Our Cinque Terre experience was exactly what I had been hoping it wouldn't be. Hiking between five, seaside, colourful fishing villages ideally requires beautiful, sunny weather. Sunny it might not have been but beautiful it definitely was. While I am personally not one to bathe in the Sun unless necessary for a day such as this, I prayed for the weather to clear up and the sun to shine brightly. Alas, despite my quite literal love for the calm before the storm, the violent turn of the weather was not appreciated initially. It prevented us from doing some of the hikes as it can become quite dangerous and also reigned havoc with our further travel plans like going to Milan. Yet, it remains one of my favourite moments from the trip as the hills were foggy adding an eerie touch and tourists were at bay.  In my favourite weather with no heat or sweat to tire from, I was happy exploring the rustic villages, getting lost in the streets and gorging on some amazing pesto and Focaccia that comes from this region and sold in the several Focaccerias (not Pizzerias) strewn across the villages.

Note: Starting our trip from Rome, the streets kept getting narrower in each passing city something I didn't think quite possible.
