When thinking back to the beautiful Capri, I find myself lost for words. Famous for being the playground of the rich and famous, it can also be serene and tranquil if you want it to be. Our visit to Capri came at the cost of missing out on seeing the Amalfi Coast and although I remain oblivious as to what I lost out on, I’m certainly glad we paid a visit to Capri. Covered in beautiful whitewashed houses that never failed to conjure Greek visuals and stunning scenic views which came straight out of my Pinterest board, this small island off the coast of Italy is a visual marvel. We began our day with a boat tour where we explored the depths of numerous caves and crags following which we waited a painstaking hour before being transported to Anacapri, the upper portion of the island. However, the truly awe-inspiring moment came about when we mounted a chair lift to get a 360 degree view of the charming little island. Pre-occupied with our “oooo-ing” and “ahhhh-ing” our original plan of making our way down on foot was quashed when we accidently purchased a return ticket for the chairlift.  After knowingly choosing to lose ourselves in the maze of Anacapri’s whitewashed alleyways, we were soon brought back to reality when we found ourselves walking 800 steps back to Capri on steep and uneven ground. Lunch had the same light and breezy air to it that seemed so rooted into our surroundings.  The Ravioli Caprese, a speciality made of deep friend ravioli stuffed with ricotta and served with tomato sauce was absolutely delicious and unusually light for its rich description. For me, it was evident that the relaxed atmosphere of this little sea-side town carried all the way to the heart of island, a wonderful escape from the Italy’s usual tourist frenzy.
